Dennis..Katrina..Rita..? Sounds familiar to you?

I am sure most of you WHO are interested in World News, have heard of Dennis and Katrina who hit Florida in the past couple weeks or months ago. Now Rita, Hurricane Rita is on her way to Texas. Evacuations, people refusing to leave, filling vehicles with gas, cashing money out, planning on where to go and how and when..

The U.S.
National Hurricane Center : said Rita's winds increased to 165 mph (265 kph) as it moved over the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico after lashing the Florida Keys on Tuesday. The storm did little damage to the vulnerable Florida islands, but had intensified to a Category 4 storm by morning.

There will be more of other types of Hurricanes on the way, on Sunday our bishopric advise us to be ready for any of those that will be coming. They will keep us informed about the evacuations. On campus students will be place in the Stake center, whereby all the communities will be place in the Canon Activity Center. Everyone is so anxious about the coming of hurricanes, but there is actually nothing to be worried about if you are very well prepared =D. We were told to have out own grab and go bagpack. Things that we should bring along would be as follows;

- Bar of soap, wash cloth, hand towel
- Emergency food (energy bar or snack foods, etc), water
- Glasses or contact lenses (and lense care products), reading glasses
- Emergency medical information - prescription drugs, ongoing meds
- Extra underclothing
- Shampoo, conditioner, brush
- Deodorant, toothbrush, tooth paste
- Razor, shaving cream
- Other personal sanitary supplies
- Extra set of car keys (in case you forget where you put them last)
- ID (passport, visa, photocopy of everything in your wallet)
- Slippers
- Scripture, notepaper, pen, journals

everything else that is important =D

First Chinese Dinner!

Ale lu ah to ME! YUP! I cooked for the first time in Hawaii! Yeah! I am happy and proud of myself. Although the food doesn't look too grand, but hey! fill my stomach and satisfied me! I am the happiest woman! Okay what I cook was, WHITE non sticky rice (really miss those rice!) next to it was my homemade Sweet and Sour pork! Yea! then Salmon, the next one Tofu (bean curb) with shoyu sauce, and last but not least..Siew Bak Choy! YES! Vegetables! Are you not proud of me now? Muahahaha (because I am! hehe)

Look..these 3 lovely ladies were my guest! Mahera (my roommate of course) Megan and Limei! They kept praising about the good food I made..making me blush and proud! I hope they were telling me the truth! hehe But look at them! smiley faces..I guess they were really satisfied with the menu .. hehe
The GRAND FINALE! YEA!! "Now you see..then you don't!" Look at all those emptied boxes! They or WE finished them all! Mahera was enjoying the Sweet and Sour pork and Siew bak choy..she was comparing the food with her home food. And believed that the way we eat and cook our food makes us slim! Uhm..boiled veggies, add on shoyu sauce and garlic oil? Healthy? YUMMY! So that was the end of our dinner.. =D They made me the happiest cook for that day! Next I am planning to make "wan tan" and "chi ma kai" (sesame oil chicken).. That will be on Saturday! Wee hee! My next day off of course..hehe

School started..YAY!

Summer is over and this is Fall. I can't wait for classes to start. Summer has been fun, working a lot and sometimes bored too. Fall started on the 31st of August, I was so excited and I still am. I can't wait to jump back to my study life. This term I registered for 6 classes. ICS 262 (Culture Communication in Asia) , Anthropology 105 , English 101 , Student Development 101 (University life challenge) , Religion 121 (Book Of Mormon 1) and the unbelievable Exercise 174 (Jogging) at 6am in the morning! Me Jogging?? I think it is totally unbelievable..I hardly exercise for the past 23 years of my life. We had our 1.5mile run on the second day of class, it took me an hour to finish the jog. I think I was the last one who got back to the starting point..what a shame. But lucky me I wasn't the first one to start orelse I have no place to hide!! But I am proud of myself that I did the jog. The after jog sore was painful but HEY! it proved I JOGGED! That's what matters! As for my other classes, they are awesome. Lots of reading assignments and I am lovin' it! Lots of catch up to do but I know I can do it! 2 months of Summer with no school work wasn't really fun at all! At least now I know I have some work to do after work. I have never realized that I would miss school this much before Summer ends.
